UK clocks go back an hour this weekend (Oct. 25)

For anyone heading to the UK in the next week, be aware that they are changing from British Summer Time at 2:00 AM on Sunday, October 25, and will ”fall back” to one hour earlier. That means that sunrise will happen before 7:00 AM again, but sunset will suddenly be before 5:00 PM.

If anyone’s heading to the U.S.A. in the next couple of weeks, we’re switching back a week later from Daylight Saving Time to Standard time, at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

With smartphones now so widespread, and setting times automatically, there are fewer clocks and watches to change. But especially for someone traveling, it’s important to be aware of the change.

Thanks Cyn for this reminder. I look forward (nah, not really) to this every year. Because most of my many clocks throughout the house are not digital it is a real job, including stopping the pendulum clocks for an hour and firing them back up again, and making sure that they all are on the right time. And then out of sync with North America until next month. Bah Humbug!

Yes it's the week when I'm not entirely sure what time my Sunday Church service from Seattle is at.
