Two Together Railcard +Phone App

After some exploration on this and a couple of other websites I found some information on the TT card that makes it seem worth the expense.

Our original quandary was making a timely escape from Heathrow to Bath via train using an advance fare but faced with the possibility of loss of fare if we miss the train. The next type of fare is the off-peak which is more costly but the cost looks like a wash if we go the TT card way.

Plus we are planning a day trip or two out of Bath, then will need a return to Paddington. The discounted fare savings add up to cover the TT card fee and exceed if we purchase the off-peak tickets out of Heathrow.

Other than traveling after 0930 are there any other significant downsides? I didn't see anything objectionable on NatRail.

Am I right with my analysis? What did I miss?

Any report on how the TT app for Android phones is working? In early posts it wasn't working well.

Literally the only downside is the 9.30am restricion, oh, and the need for both named persons to always be travelling together.
Otherwise it is a winner.
There are no hidden catches.
Unlike senior railcard you don't get a discount on off peak tube travel, but you weren't factoring that in anyway.

The only other minor issue is that you need passport sized photographs for the Two Together pass. Note that while the photos should be passport sized they don't have to be the same quality or subject to the same rules.

When we got our cards last year we handed over our photos and the staff person put the card together. Easy peasy. The time restriction wasn’t an issue with us.

The Two Together "card" works very well - you can buy it via Train Line without any fees, and hold it there, and don't have to use Train Line for the actual tickets if that's your choice. You can take two "passport" pics on your phone for the app too so it's super quick and easy
