Two Together Railcard

We are arriving at Heathrow this Friday morning. We are spending the night in Windsor and then going to Bath for two nights and then to London for the remainder of our trip. We will probably take a trip to Oxford and perhaps a tour to Leeds/Canterbury. I just discovered the Two Together Railcard and I believe it could be a money saver for the four of us. I'd really appreciate any help with the following:

1) Where do I find a staffed station ticket office to purchase the Railcards?

2) I'm not clear on how the railcard works in London. Do I still need an Oyster card?

3) We are planning to visit several DaysOut attractions in London. How do I take advantage of the Two Together discounts?

Thank you so much- S

1) - Windsor stations would be fine. Not Heathrow though.
2) - There are no discounts if you use an Oyster card. with a Two Together RC. You can however get one day travelcards for £8 each from a national rail station.
3) - You will need a national rail ticket valid for the day of visit. Just having a TTRC is of no benefit.

Staffed stations include Windsor & Eton Central, Windsor & Eton Riverside, Bath Spa, London Paddington

details here http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/WNC/details.html

The Two Together Railcard offers some discounts for travel around London

but it's not a substitute for an Oyster card (or a paper travelcard).

The Two Together Railcard is not the same as the Days Out 2for1 offers; for these you need a paper travelcard, (which is a substitute for an Oyster Card) or a valid rail ticket.

You need to do your sums to decide if the £30 Two Together Railcard is worth it for the journeys you describe; it may not be. It's more likely a paper travelcard and the 2for1s offer are a good deal for you.

Thank you for your replies. I think we will just take a taxi to Windsor (any suggestions or tips there?) and then National Rail to Bath and London. (I did mean Leeds Castle!).

To Windsor absolutely do not take a London black cab. Pre-book a local private hire car to come and pick you up - someone may have experience of a particular firm. The bus is a reasonable alternative from Terminals 2,3 (central bus station) and 5.

Marco is right, of course. Tell the lady at the ticket window at the Heathrow Bus Station you want a ticket for the Number 50 bus to Windsor. It will cost about 3 or 4 pounds. Much cheaper than a cab.

The bus drops you right below the castle near the Tourist Information office. Do go into the TI office and pick up a free walking map of Windsor.

The rail stations should have booklets with details of 2 for 1 offers for attractions (for rail users). When you arrive at a station, do not put the ticket in a gate machine or you will not see it again. Go to a human by the gate and say you wish to retain the ticket. Show the ticket(s) when using the 2 for 1 deals. You will find coupons in the back of the booklet. The booklets for London, Bath etc are different.
