Two Together rail card Savings & Pics from Canada

Hello, Has anyone from Canada purchased a Two Together in the past while. Did you find that it saved you quite a lot? I'm wondering if the Rail cards save or just purchase Off Peak tickets anyway.

Were you able to apply online ahead time for the Two Together? Then how do you get the pass?
How did it go with getting a pic for the pass? Did you happen to just take a pic on your phone, like they say they want it to be and use that?

Appreciate any of your help or suggestions. Thank you

Try and give some idea of the journeys that you would like to take as that will give some idea of whether or not you should get the 2 Together Railcard. Also see this site for train travel in Britain:>https://www.seat61.com

You need £90 of tickets to make it worthwhile - one long trip will cover that. You probably need three or four returns if it's shorter suburban trains

You can buy the pass any time - if you anticipate being in the UK more than once in a year then it's worth leaving that until just before you go. As long as you have the pass in place at time of travel, you can purchase a two together ticket in advance.

Easiest way to get the pass is to use Trainline and do it all digitally - there is no fee for buying the pass. You can do mobile pics

You do NOT use train line to purchase the railcard.
Why some people keep promoting that middleman is beyond me.
You use the official website which you already have, I think.
Any image will do as long as it's a likeness, not to passport standard. In truth I hardly ever get asked for my railcard, and the pic is never checked, just that I have a railcard. That has happened twice today, not asked for the railcard at all.
So yes just take selfies.
It's getting very close to ticket release now. In fact some of the later ones may be on release now. LNER and Northern aren't yet, but GWR are - whether as a through fare onto Southern I'm not sure.
Need to do the maths at that stage on whether 2x senior railcards or one 2T works best, given one maybe two or even three early starts.
Unless you burningly want a physical railcard best to get it as an instantly issued digital railcard on your phone.

I am aware of the real reason for this query, the proposed early starts

Shelley now has the websites for 2T and Senior Railcards.

Although not really relevant to visitors, if you apply online and opt for a physical railcard issued to you by mail then you don't need to provide any photographs- but you do need photographs if you apply for a physical card at a station, or opt for the digital card.

Yes, Two Together will save you money, if you are going to use the train several times. Go to national rail.cm and get your tickets. Mark it as if you have our railcard, once you get to London and before your first train trip purchase your Two Together Railcard. We rode the train 10 times in May, and we were only asked once to see your railcard, but if we didn’t have it they would of charged us more.
