I'm deciding about the Plastic Railcard, which is of course my preference. I wondering if anyone had one done at the Train Station and how that all went. How long it would take them to actually put together and did you only need to provide pics. Another option was:: I wondered about downloading the digital one and then taking a screenshot of the railcard and saving in my pics to use. If it's just occasionally they even check on it. We are deciding on this so we don't have to use Data on our phones. What have others done?
Screenshots of Railcards are not accepted. However, the app does not require internet access when you have to show it provided you have connected to the internet within the previous 72 hours.
every time you are asked for your tickets, whether on train or at the ticket barriers in the stations you will need to also show the Two Together card (and of course be together at the time because it is not valid if both of you aren't travelling together)
We brought two passport photos and the completed application form (pdf available online) with us and then bought the card at a train station when we got to England. It only took about 10-15 minutes for them to put it together and then we were off. In our experience, the card was checked every time we showed our tickets. The card was great and quickly paid for itself.
Just as previous poster reported, we came to Glasgow with required photos and completed application and were handed our Two Together card in under 10 minutes. You need the card each time your tickets are checked.
The app is super easy and you don't need data to open up the rail cards as they are stored in the memory part. You can easily do the process at home with phone pics. It has to be the actual pass, not a screenshot. I use 2 together all the time and it's probably asked for about a third of the time the tickets are checked.
The important part though is that you don't need data to access the pass.
Thank you all. This is very helpful.
