Tube strikes - update 7 June 07:45 UK time

Despite my being told, and me reporting, that the 6th of June strike had been suspended it is apparently back on, as I have just seen in an email just sent out by Transport for London (TfL).

The sad details are below, quoting said email.

Quoting TfL:

"

We are advising customers to avoid travelling on Monday 6 June.

Severe disruption across the network is expected from start of service on Monday until 08:00 on Tuesday morning, with many stations closed, especially in Zone 1. This is due to RMT strike action in London Underground stations.

Train services are expected to run on parts of most lines, but won't stop at closed stations.

If travel cannot be avoided, please travel after 08:00 and complete journeys by 18:00. On Tuesday 7 June, some stations may still be closed at the beginning of the day and you are advised to travel after 08:00.

Further details can be found on our website

Also until Sunday 10 July, RMT strike action will be taking place across various London Underground stations. Between these dates, journeys may be impacted by short notice station closures.

Although we are doing everything we can to keep stations open, please allow more time for your journey, check before you travel or use TfL Go to plan your journey.

Thank you for the update. It looks as though more is to come, unfortunately.

not much change, but perhaps a little more clarity in expected hot spots (or actually cold, since they will be closed) :

"with many stations closed, especially those in central and south London." (from TfL)

As expected from past experience there is little running within Zone 1 apart from at the edge, such as Earl's Court to Edgware Road. A bit more running outside including between Earl's Court and Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3. Expect situation to vary through the day.

Other services running normally such as the Overground and Elizabeth line.
