Trip to England in mid October

Only have seven days in England, can not extend. Last there 50yrs ago. My absolute musts: Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury. Adding to that a probable trip to Conwy in Wales, finishing off with a few days in London. Question is, what is the best way to get from early morning flight into Heathrow to Salisbury, then on to Glastonbury/Wells? So much more wish I could include.

Also looks as though Bath is best place for train connection to Conwy?

This is too optimistic for me for 7 days. If you want to see Salisbury, Stonehenge, Glastonbury and Wells that’s at least two full days, so three nights including arrival day. Then it will take a big chunk of two days to get up to Conwy and back down to London without seeing anything in North Wales. Then you plan a few days in London? Something has to give.

From Heathrow the easiest and cheapest route to Salisbury is a through ticket on the Rail Air coach to Woking, then train forward.
As so often Rome2Rio seems to be talking a load of nonsense about a bus from Salisbury to Glastonbury, but no surprise there.
There may be a very rare service, but nothing that is actually useable.
The easiest thing to do is to go to Bristol or Bath on the train, stay there overnight or even a straight transfer, then both cities have a good bus service to both Glastonbury and Wells.
Bath to Conwy by train is 5 to 5 1/2 hours by train, either Bath to Newport, then Newport to Conwy , or sometimes an extra change at Bristol.
Sometimes it is easier to get off at Llandudno Junction (which has a more frequent service) then walk, taxi or bus across the bridge.
But it isn't 8 to 11 hours. Even if you went via London it isn't 8 hours.
It is 1 1/2 hours to Paddington, allow 1 hour to transfer to Euston then 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours- so 7 hours maximum.

Why do north Americans keep checking things on Rome2Rio. Time and time again, we have mentioned on here that they are usually wrong.

As so often Rome2Rio seems to be talking a load of nonsense about a bus from Salisbury to Glastonbury ...

Looking at what Rome2Rio comes up with, the first part was to take a taxi to Amesbury, so not really a bus route at all. The second part was a bit of an independent coach operator's fast route to/from London. Not clear that they sell intermediate tickets anyway on this one service a day. So a bust all round.

Search engines bring up Rome2Rio when asked about how to travel between A & B unfortunately.

We did a four week drive tour of England and South Wales, visiting many of the places you named.

If you stay in Bath, consider the Brooks Guesthouse, a great B&B with super breakfast. Also, dine at the Scallop Shell Restaurant nearby.
We did a great day trip from Bath to Wells and Glastonbury.

Your seven days visiting Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge (you can do both in one day). Also, consider Avebury, with stones you can touch.

You need another day to do Wells and Glastonbury, then another for Bath.

Conwy is a bit farther from the other places. Have you considered Stratford Upon Avon, it is fantastic and you can visit the house where Shakespeare was born.
Oxford is worth a day, also Blenheim Palace. How much time in London?

Appreciate the comments, several tears back figured Rome2rio not worth the time. Anyway, believe I have first 4 ‘musts’ solved. Getting to Conwy no the issue, will most likely return to UK in couple years but this is going to be my one and only chance to see any of Wales. Best would be a mate to drive mr through Wales. Ah, but not happening.
