Travelodge billing question

I booked three rooms at the Travelodge at Southwark and received my confirmation numbers. I have since been waiting for me credit card to be billed (booked it Feb 18) It hasn't been billed yet and I know when I booked the reservation they stated that it had to be paid when booking. Now I'm afraid that somehow we don't really have the reservation....yes, I'm a worry wart!

Is that credit card just to hold the room and they bill it when you get there, or do you think something is wrong with my reservation?

Just for peace of mind I would call or email them and verify the reservation and when you will be charged.

The same thing happened to me last year when I booked several rooms, agreed to a pay immediately no refund policy and then waited and waited. I finally e-mailed them. Here was there reply to me:

Thank you for your email.

You pay for rooms when you book them, rather than when you arrive, which means a speedy check-in and no need for check out.

The only time you will pay on arrival at the hotel is if you booked for the same day when booking via our Central Reservations team or when using certain credit cards. I can confirm that these bookings are pay on arrival which is why you have not been charged for your bookings.

You must be able to show ID (driver's licence, passport or a valid credit or debit card) if you are paying by cash for a walk-in booking at the hotel or if requested by a hotel member of staff.

End of e-mail.

I assume my credit card did not let them charge me until the day of the booking. I also assume I would have been charged that day whether I showed up or not. In any case, we paid when we got there and had no problem. (We were booked at 2 different places and it was the same at both.) The nice part was I was booking a room for us and one for another couple. Because they did not charge me ahead, we each took care of our room on arrival and save the "you owe me" headache.

Have a great time.

Probably email - if you have one for them - or call them. I expect they can put you at ease quickly.

Thank you all. I did email them this morning as soon as I realized the problem. I emailed them a couple weeks ago to ask another question and it took about a week for a return email. So, I knew you all would get me the answer faster than they would get back to me. I will give them a week or so and then call if I don't hear back. It makes me feel better that Connie had the same situation.

Thanks so much!
