From Oxford, what is the best way to travel to Moreton in Marsh? It seems expensive by train for a 30 minute journey. Also, running on a tight schedule to arrive just before our tour begins. Are the trains usually on time?
Is £13.80 a lot in the context of a vacation?
Trains are generally on time but stuff happens with any form of transport.
When getting ready to check out it was about $80 US dollars. I will do that if that is the normal. Uber would probably not be any less. Just asking. Thanks! I was looking at the GWR sight.
Not sure how you got to $80.
An Anytime Day Return (so totally flexible ticket) if coming back that day after the tour is £23 per person (so about $28). That is a walk up fare and is fully flexible out and return on any train.
£13.80 is correct, for a single or return ticket on the same day, unless you are leaving before 8:00am, in which case the Anytime Ticket kicks in. Leaving and returning on different days also increases the cost by about £10.00.

$80? Are you going via the Moon? Where are you seeing that?
It’s £13.80.
Don't use RailEurope or any other third-party seller for this. NationalRail.co.uk will show you all your options without any surcharges.
Most rail websites show the total price for all tickets if you indicate more than one person is traveling; that might be part of the confusion here.
