Traveling to London/York during Brexit

In May, we have airline tickets for a trip to London and are planning a train trip to York during our trip, as wel.l If the "hard" Brexit is avoided in April, the new extended Brexit date will occur while we are in London. Is there any concern about traveling to and from the UK during that time? Should we consider another location?

Emma, I just spent a week in England (one day in Wales) during the Brexit scurry....very interesting time! Just loved my visit especially the sunshine!

All this is a wildcard right now, nobody has any idea what the implications are. But in general, since you are just travelling to the UK, it is safe to assume there will be no issues. If you were arriving in the UK then heading to the continent, then I would guess you might want to plan in extra time to pass through immigration and customs prior to heading to France, or wherever, but this seems not to be the case.

Nobody can predict what will happen and when, other than I think it's a pretty safe bet that alcohol consumption in the UK will continue to rise dramatically with each passing day. Cheers!!!

I’m with Emma.

GO!!!

Great country to explore and honestly no one has a clue about when and if Brexit will EVER succeed.

Only advice is you might want to save a few shekels by Booking your train ticket to York now.

Just remember what Doris Day sang-What will be, will be. Though it's been fun to see the Spanish paper headlines about Brexit and are now front page news. I think Spaniards are just amazed that UK MPs are as bad as Spanish parliament. You Brits have always seemed so even-keeled. But I'm betting May is like the Energizer Bunny-she keeps going and going long after everyone is tired of her.

After today’s fiasco, there isn’t likely to be a May Brexit date.

No reason to change your trip.

Why would the UK leaving the EU (whenever that is) have any effect on a foreigner visiting London? Have a blast!
