Travel to Rushock from the Cotswolds

My wife and I will be staying in Chipping Campden in early October. While we're there we'd like to travel to Rushock to visit John Bonham's resting place. Can anyone recommend options for traveling between the towns? We won't have a rental car, which I'm afraid might be the best/most practical option.

Thank you!

For any Brits like me hoping to answer this one, I have googled Rushock for you as I had certainly never heard of it in all my 55 years! It turns out to be a small village between Droitwich & Kidderminster.

Rome2Rio suggests getting a bus from Chipping Campden to Evesham, then a train to Droitwich Spa followed by another bus (or I guess a taxi at either end). Traveline Info suggests bus to Moreton in the Marsh, train to Worcester, another train to Kidderminster then a bus and a walk to get to Rushock.

In short, it would take several hours and a lot of changes by public transport (it’s not exactly a much travelled journey) whereas by road it’s about 35 miles and take an hour.

If it’s important to you, why not see if a Chipping Campden taxi firm would quote you a price - and to stay there while you visit?

Both Chipping Camden and Rushock are not well served by public transport – especially Rushock it’s a tiny place.

You can use traveline to plan a journey https://www.traveline.info/

Looking on google maps I think I would take a

Bus from Chipping Camden to Moreton in Marsh

Train from Moreton in Marsh to Kidderminster

Taxi from Kidderminster to Rushock

Or as Jane suggests, get a quote from a taxi company in Chipping Camden

You can take the train from Moreton-in-Marsh to Worcester Shrub Hill (no change) which is a 39 minute train ride. From Worcester Schrub Hill take taxi to Rushock which is 12 miles from Worcester Schrub Hill train station. It’s the easiest and fastest. I just looked if you book ticket soon it would be £13.40 for a return ticket (round trip).

Yes, by miles, a rental car would be the far best option.

Even if you get a taxi from Chipping Campden and go the most direct way by car it will take at least an hour each way.

I hope the gravestone is in good condition and you are able to find it easily.

Will you do anything else in that area that day? Maybe a ride on a steam train at Kidderminster (Severn Valley Railway, arguably the best preserved railway in the UK, therefore the world) or visit the canal locks at Stourport on Severn, or perhaps Worcester Cathedral or the Grey Friars there?

If you were doing anything else it may help you decide on the best train route or taxi.

There are always plenty of taxis around Kidderminster, which is much closer than Worcester (less traffic for the taxi, too) but as said above you'd better have a taxi wait by the church in Rushock or you will never get another.

That part of the world is really one where having a car will be very helpful.

By the way, there isn't a train from Moreton-in-Marsh (or Evesham or any other station on the Cotswold Line) to Kidderminster. You would have to change at Worcester Shrub Hill for a train towards Birmingham which also stops at Kiddie.
