Travel to England

We will be first time travelers to England and I’m getting a bit worried about travel in general to Europe coming from the United States. With the unrest here I am worried at some point there might be problems with travel abroad. Am I worrying for no reason or does anyone else have these concerns?

To be perfectly honest, I feel a lot safer in Europe than in the U.S. Of course, anything might happen anywhere. But, my advice is go, enjoy, and be happy. As long as you exercise reasonable caution, and maintain good situational awareness, you should be fine. The greatest "danger" you might encounter is the presence of pickpockets. Not that the country is flooded with them, but they are more common in large metro areas than in the U.S.

I understand your concerns about travel right now as I have some concerns too.
We traveled this summer in Europe on two trips for a total of 11 weeks. It was wonderful. Just wonderful! A lot of our time was in England.
I am so glad we did and we are planning to go back in 2026.

I'm not sure what the unrest you refer to is and how it might cause problems with foreign travel.

If you can elaborate without breaching the political guidelines perhaps more of us could be in a position to assuage your concerns.

What are you refering to? Something orange?

Europeans won’t care.

I’d NEVER miss a chance to be in England.

I have traveled overseas several times in the last year and invariably have been treated well everywhere I went. People are generally well able to distinguish between individuals and a country's political leadership. They might tell you just how they feel about that leadership if you give them permission to do so (particularly true of Aussies), but otherwise there really isn't much attention given to politics.

I've been to South Africa, Europe, South America and Asia this year and have not felt unsafe or unwelcome in any of those locations. England is probably one of the easiest countries to travel in and I think you will find yourselves having a wonderful time.

We headed over there in December and ditto what Claudia said.

Go and have a good time.

I've been traveling in Europe for over a month, started in England, currently in Budapest. No hassles, wonderful folks everywhere I've been.

I've been in Europe this year about seven months. Four of those in the UK.

I've been traveling like that for years. This year is no different than any other year.

We were in England at the beginning of September (York, Whitby, London). We had absolutely no issues and locals barely asked about our political situation. Our Windsor visit was a bit disrupted as they were preparing for trump. The day after our Windsor visit, during the trump visit, there were minor, nonviolent disruptions against trump.
