My husband and I will be arriving at London Heathrow via Eurowings at 15:00 on December 21 and want to take the bus to Cambridge. How much time should we allow for customs, etc., at the airport before getting the bus? Would you recommend that we get our tickets now online, or wait until we get to Heathrow?

Eurowings from where?

I ask because unless you have something to declare u aren’t going through customs. Immigration is what visitors must go through to enter the country and you never can tell how long that will take.

I’d opt to buy bus tickets when you arrive.

Are you traveling from within or outside of the Schengen zone ??? Customs is nothing. It is immigration or passport control that can cause problems.

Definitely purchase those tickets after you arrive at LHR.

Thanks to you all for your advice. We will purchase the bus tickets at the airport. Eurowings has changed our itinerary (leaving from Dresden instead of Leipzig; various time changes) at least five times since we got the tickets in March.

Be aware that about half of the coaches that go to Cambridge carry on to Norwich so that will be the destination at the front. The ones just to Cambridge take about half an hour longer.
