Does anyone have any experience with travel from South Hampton cruise terminal to London. bY train vs bus? I understand about 4 different terminals, the necessity for taxi to either train station or bus terminal. It looks like the bus ( national Express) is less expensive and takes longer, while the train is more expensive, can be very crowded and a seat not guaranteed. Any comments appreciated.
Are you travelling alone? If there are two or three of you add up the costs of taxi from cruise terminal, train or coach fare, and taxi in London to your hotel. You may find after a quick google that a private transfer is not that much more expensive, and certainly so much easier.
megatrain do limited availability tickets from £7
book when your dates become available and you can get a bargain
they're the normal trains, so no catch and nothing to worry about
We took a taxi from cruise terminal to train station and it is not far from the ct. Train or taxi were not expensive and the train took us to Waterloo. Train was not crowded and no problem with seats. The taxi from Waterloo to hotel in South Kensington cost more than the other rides.
Thanks for all informative input. We plan on staying in an apartment close to the Tower of London, in the City of London. Will probably take the train then taxi to apartment. Thanks.
