Travel from Paddington Rail to Heathrow Terminals 1-3

I know I've seen it on here - but maybe it's an old enough thread that it has gone away - I am looking for the fastest route to Heathrow from Paddington Rail Station but without using the Express or Connection - they are too expensive. If that's the only route that is recommended we'll pay that - but I thought there were instructions on how to get to Heathrow by another route.

If you don't want to use the Heathrow Express or Heathrow Connect, then you can take the tube, but this is not the fastest option. It will take you about an hour and you will need to transfer. en route. You can use the journey planner on http://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/ . Under travel options, select only tube to see the tube routes.

Thanks - it just depends upon when our train arrives.

Another question related to Heathrow - we hope to use the FREE bus transport to our Heathrow Bath Road Hotel - not worried about the time it takes - it's on our last leg of our trip before we head home.

But the next morning we have a 10:15 flight - and we know to be there as early as possible - How much time do we need to add to catch a shuttle to the airport from Bath Road? I've looked at information for the FREE shuttle service and Hoppa - I think we need the U3 but - but nothing indicates how often those busses run - and how long the route takes each bus to run their route?

Bath road to Heathrow bus station is 8mins by the U3.
First Bath Road departure is 4.50 am approx every 20 mins.
At 6.57am ,the service increases to 12min intervals

So you actually don't want to go to Heathrow at first, but to a hotel on the U3 bus route.

From Paddington the quickest way would be train to West Drayton and then the U3 bus to the hotel you haven't named.

For reference if you were going directly to Heathrow, then from Paddington train to Hayes and Harlington and the 140 bus is quicker than the underground.

Look at the Heathrow Bus Spider map to see if alternatives are available. This also marks the extent of the freeflow Heathrow areas where the buses are free.

THANK YOU, Marco!

I have seen many maps - and have visited that website several times while planning this trip - but have NOT seen this map! That's EXACTLY what I was looking for!!

For others reading this, who actually want to get to Heathrow from Paddington ( not to a hotel nearby), there is a fairly cost-effective option on the Heathrow Express if there are two traveling together! and you are going both to and from Heathrow ( or vice versa) within 30 days. The DuoSaver ticket is purchased in advance on the HEX website for £50. This brings the cost of each journey down to £12.50 pp. it is still more than the single-journey price on the Tube £5.70) but it is so much faster and more convenient.
