travel from London to Dublin

We are traveling from London to Dublin in September. We had originally thought about train/ferry but I think someone discouraged us from that. I am thinking that we will now fly but trying to decide which airport is best. We are staying in May Fair and would like to take a morning flight and we also want to fly on a jet rather than a small prop plane. Any suggestions?

We did the opposite in 2013 and took Aer Lingus. It was a nice flight, decent airline size (some planes can be too small), but landed at Gatwick, which our driver said was a poor choice, as we were staying in Bloomsbury and driving into the city on a Sunday evening.
You are smart to do research and I think taking the plane is the best choice. We opted to fly rather than do the ferry/train to allow more time in London.

Heathrow, Gatwick and London City are all within easy reach of Mayfair. City airport has usually shorter queues but there isn't much in it. Stansted is a bit further out and Luton is on a fast train line. Avoid Southend as this will take too long to get there.

As far as I am aware, there are no prop planes on this route. Check easyjet, Aer Lingus and Ryanair for flights.

Don't neglect looking up British Airways - it can turn out to be the cheapest sometimes taking all costs into account..

Several years ago we took an Air Lingus flight to Dublin from Heathrow. It worked fine.

Fly Aer Lingus or BA from Heathrow. Both have direct flights into Dublin. about an hour and twenty minutes portal to portal. It will be a jet. Easy peasy. Book now for best rates. Running about 140.00 for each airline.
