I would like to travel from London to Barcelona, this fall. Which mode of transportation is less expensive and easier to use, train or Airplane? Time is not a factor (retired), but money is some what a factor. The more explicit a response the better, this will be my only trip to Europe.

You can get an overview of regular train ticket prices and travel time on the map at http://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/transportation/trains/cost-maps. If booking a few months in advance, you could find cheaper train tickets. Still, flying is sure to be both cheaper and faster. Try www.skyscanner.com as a airfare search engine.
