Travel Disruption For Christmas

Sharing intel.

Between 12/24/25 thru 1/2/26 there will be major travel issues as London’s Liverpool Street Station will be closed.

This will impact travel services on the Stansted Express, GreatexAnglia, c2c, and the Weaver Line forcing trains to run from Stratford, Fenchurch and Londonfields.

Definitely check www.tfl.gov.uk on a daily basis to insure travel options will be available.

Are Greater Anglia really running into Fenchurch Street? It is technically possible over the single line chord, but Fenchurch Street has no spare capacity for diversions.

The timetables have been out for weeks and I can't see that.

The work doesn't affect C2C as they only normally run from Fenchurch Street anyway (only to Liverpool Street when Fenchurch Street is closed for engineering work)- which isn't in the work zone. The advice seems to be for Greater Anglia customers for the Southend Victoria line to use C2C instead to Southend Central from Fenchurch Street- which is running normally. It'll be interesting if they are lengthened from 8 to 12 cars for the extra traffic.

It was always interesting for me as a daily C2C commuter when C2C diverted via Stratford and the chord between Barking and Fenchurch Street because it was such a rare route.

Greater Anglia customers are always annoyed when diverted to C2C because C2C fares are so much cheaper.
