I need help with how to get to Windsor Castle from Heathrow airport. We would like to head straight there after we arrive at 11 am this Saturday. We have arranged for our luggage to be taken to our hotel in London. We are staying near Waterloo Station so will be taking the train back there after our visit in Windsor. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
We took a local bus that left right outside Heathrow T5. It took about 40 minutes and cost around £4 each. The route number has changed but here is some current information:

Go to the Transport For London web site (tfl.gov.uk) and select the Plan A Journey. Enter Heathrow and the terminal you are arriving to as the starting point and Windsor Castle as the destination. This way, you can print this out at home and have it handy on arrival.
By the way, this travel planner is the #1 reason I will ALWAYS have a functional smart phone when visiting London!
Its been a long time since I've been there, but I seem to recall that you can walk to the castle from Eton rail station, to which it might be easier to find connections. Maybe someone can confirm.
Either take a bus or taxi, a taxi is a 15 minute ride.
