Could you recommend a car company to take 7 adults to Warner Bros Studio. We are going on Sunday the 21st, the day of the marathon. For $300 their bus service can pick up/return to Baker Street Center or Victoria Bus Stop but our hotel is by the Tower of London.
I might be able to get there and back with a car service since it is such a busy day for the same amount or less????
Any advice is appreciated.
Also, if you have any ideas what we can do that morning of the race to get out of the area, please advise.
Thank you very much
Hi tammy, did you check price for Uber? Yes, you have to book 2 Uber, but better check the price once. I just checked the price. It would cost you like £90 for 2 Uber. So a round trip would be £180. It's far cheaper.
Surely the sensible thing to do would be what the great majority of visitors to the studios do - take public transport. It will be both much quicker and significantly cheaper than any road based plan.
From the Tower just take the Circle line tube to Euston Square. Walk a few hundred yards to Euston station and take a train to Watford Junction from where you pick up the Studios' free shuttle bus service. You should be able to get to the shuttle bus in about an hour. The cost will be £9pp each way.
Assuming that you don't want to watch the marathon just look to visit any one of London's main attractions that are away from the marathon route. Don't stay in the area around Tower Bridge as that will be rammed with people watching the run or Westminster where the run will end but otherwise most places will be fine.
If on the day they make Tower Hill station exit only to deal with the crowds then it is only a short walk to Aldgate (the next station) for the same train, or to Bank for the Northern line to Euston.
The £9 is a through fare, although you change stations at Euston going from tower hill.
There are lots of situations on London transport where two nearby stations are treated as one for fare purposes- technically known as an out of station interchange.
Towards Watford Junction you have a 40 minute allowance between swiping out at Euston Square and swiping in at Euston.
Coming back that allowance is 20 minutes due to higher tube frequencies.
Exceed those times and it is treated as two separate journeys. Those times are more than ample, as long as you don't go for lunch on the piazza at Euston.
It wouldn't matter if that did happen, as it is only an extra 60 pence each, as two journeys.
Whilst Golden Tours are a decent option in situations where the tours are sold out, they don’t really make sense if you already have your tickets. The tube/train, is simple, cheap and quick.
