Hi, I had a Couple of questions about getting the best deals on transportation tickets.
1.) I'm looking at the 30 day advance saver tickets for the he athrow express, any down side to these tickets? They are less than half the price. I did notice you can't print them, how do the e tickets work? Do you think I will have any trouble with e tickets having an American iPhone?
2.) once we arrive at paddington station on the heathrow express where do I go to buy the 7 day paper travelcard? I want to get this one bc we will in London for 7 days and I also want to use the 2 for one deals. I know after I get the travelcard I can download vouchers for the two for one deals I want to use. Will I have any trouble using the vouchers on my American iPhone?
Thank you so much!
I got a 30-day advance ticket for Heathrow Express and was able to print it out. It has one of those square thingies that gets scanned wherever you enter. It committed me to a particular day but not a particular time, and the saving was considerable (they have a bigger saving with a 90-day advance purchase but I missed that). I haven't used it yet but I don't see any downside. Locking into a date is no problem when you're already locked into your flight date.
the only downside is Paddington your final destination? If not it may involve extra cost, so there might be better ways to get to where you wan to go.
You get the travel card at a rail ticket office, which are are at street level in Paddington station.
1.) dunno
2.)
You can print (yes print - not save to your phone, you have to print out and hand over the vouchers and show your tickets or paper travelcards (one for each of the two people on each deal)) the voucher any time before you get to the ticket window. You don't have to have your ticket first as long as you have them with a valid date when you get to the attraction ticket office.

I know that these days it is easier to put something into Wallet and just flash it - but not with the 2 for 1 scheme. Maybe one day. Made me check though.....
Our final destination is the notting hill stop I had planned to take the heathrow express to paddington and then buy our travelcards to use for the tube to notting hill.
So we are two adults and a baby, I know the baby is free for the sites. do I need to print two vouchers for each site we plan to visit? Or just one?
Thanks for all the help!
One voucher, two tickets.
For your 7 day season ticket paper Travelcards each of you will need a passport sized photo is required for a Photocard, which must be carried at all times when travelling in addition to the Travelcard.
Thank you for that information. Does the baby also need a photo even though her ticket is free?
No photo needed for the baby. Children under 5 travel for free with an adult; no ticket necessary.

When you purchase that HeathrownExpress advance ticket online, younwill get an email with the e-ticket attached. Print that out and bring it. There may also be an option to send it to your phone---I would be surprised if there isn't---but I do not have a smartphone so never look for that option.
We did the 30 day advanced ticket on HEX - just wished I thought to do it at the 90 day point! I just printed the tickets out at home and carried them with us.
When we were buying our rail tickets to Hampton Court at Waterloo Station, the agent showed us the 2 for 1 brochures on the counter. We just tore out the coupon when we got to Hampton Court.
So, they will make the photo cards for me when I purchase the paper travelcards at paddington rail ticket office? Is there a charge for this service?
No charge as long as you have your photos. If you have to go the booth for pictures it is around £3 - or was the last time I went past a Photo-Me booth and noticed, some time ago.
More likely to be around £5 these days.
