What's the most efficient/optimal way to get from Heathrow to Southampton?

I think that it is going to be National Express Bus which will take you from the airport to Southampton.
I never took it from the airport but other Forum Members have and they can probably give you better information than me.
Also many persons have asked the same or similar questions. You might be able to do a search on the forum.

I took the National Express Bus directly from Heathrow to Southampton and was pleased with the experience. The coach is comfortable, luggage goes below, and the price is reasonable. You can pay 5 pounds extra for a "flexible" ticket that allows you to change to another bus if your flight is early or later than expected.
