Hi, we decided to spend the first 3 nights of our August trip in Bath, giving us a full day to see the sights in Bath and a day for a Mad Max Cotswolds excursion, before traveling to London for 10 nights at the Resident Kensington. I’m a bit confused about transportation to/from Bath. I think we will take the National Express bus from LHR to Bath. Am I correct that I can buy the bus tickets after arriving (terminal 2 I think (United from Houston)) and clearing immigration at Heathrow? For the trip from Bath to London on Saturday the 20th, we’d like to end up at the Earl’s Court tube stop, or I guess we could call an Uber from somewhere else to get to the hotel. What would be the best way to get to London? Thanks so much!

You will take the train.

It looks like you will arrive at Paddington station. Switch to tube or taxi there.
Very simple....
From Bath, take the train to Paddington station. More comfortable than the bus.
From Paddington, take the District line to Earls Court station. (West direction). Or you could take a cab.
The Earls Court tube stop is one block from the hotel.
Walking directions from Earls Court tube to the hotel.
Exit the station at the Earls Court Road exit. Directly in front of you is a crosswalk with traffic light. . Cross the street. (Greggs will be in front of you.) Turn right and walk to the corner.(about 50 feet). Cross the street and you will see the Courtfield Pub. Turn left and walk to the end of the block. Turn right. The first set of steps on the right is the hotel.
Right next to Greggs is Pauls. This is a French bakery chain. If you want a nice pastry or a continental type breakfast, it's good place to go.
Right next to Pauls is Greggs. This is an English bakery chain. If you want a nice sausage roll or a coffee, it's a good place to go. Unfortunately, they don't sell stottie cakes in the south.

Stick to Paul, far better quality and the use of butter instead of palm oil favoured by Greggs.
There are National Express coaches from Bath to Earls Court. I think the stop is outside the Premier Inn Kensington Olympia. Very cheap if you book in advance.
The bus from Bath to the Earls Court stop will take 3 hours.
The train from Bath to Paddington is 1:30. It won't take more than 30 minutes to take the Tube from Paddington to Earls Court and then walk to the hotel.
So, you will save an hour by taking the train.
Thanks all! It will be good for us to take the train to get familiar with it.
If the weather is good, to go to Earls Court from Paddington with bags it is easier to go outside and cross the street for the District Line rather than follow the inside station route as it removes one set of stairs to go up. Over the years I have seen so many people struggling with this.
