Transportation from Heathrow to London on boxing day

I need to get from Heathrow to London on Dec 26, Boxing Day. I saw that the Heathrow Express which I had planned to take won’t be running, I tried to find out if there is a bus but I couldn’t find information.
I also was looking for a room for under 100$ at Heathrow or close by on Christmas night. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, jo

Don't know about the transportation, but check out the Premier Inn near Terminal 4. If is about a 15-minute walk from the terminal through an enclosed walkway. The hotel is fairly new and often has exceptionally good rates. I paid 37.50 pounds (a couple of months in advance) for a non-cancelable single room on September 9. Cancelable rooms are more expensive, and rates tend to creep up closer to the check-in date. I consider this a really great deal for an airport hotel, and it's great not to worry about possible delays in getting to the airport from the city. I'd suggest booking a cancelable room right away. You can do that on the corporate website (which might be cheaper; that's where I book) or on a site like booking.com. A quick check suggests that you may be able to get a rate below $50. This is a perfectly nice hotel.

I’ve actually stayed at a premier inn b4 and it was good. I’m flying into terminal 5. Is there a shuttle bus or is it walkable from T5? Thanks

Not walkable for sure. There may be buses. I've used the tube, but I don't think it will be running at all on Christmas night. Hope someone who's up on holiday transportation can help you later today.

National Express will be running coaches between Heathrow and Victoria Coach Station on Christmas Day. T5 might involve changing at Heathrow Central. The hoppa buses run a reduced service to hotels. So the journey is possible, albeit if you are in Victoria. If you are considering this book now as the individual coach services are already filling up with most already out of the cheapest tickets.

Boxing Day the underground should run, but they haven't published the details - the time of the first service might be important for you.

Yes, the Piccadilly Line will run on Boxing Day, but it depends on how early you need to arrive at Heathrow.

I am actually leaving the airport going into town so the Piccadilly line will work. I assume there r cabs on Boxing Day to take me to my hotel once I get out of the tube .
