Transport question for 4:30 am

There will be two of us needing to arrive at 258 Vauxhall Bridge Road (Evan Evans tour) at 5 am on a Saturday. We are staying at Premier Inn Southwark(High Street). Any idea, ball park what the cost for a cab would be. Would there be any problems taking the subway at this time?
Thank you for your help

I believe taking the tube would necessitate a change at Westminster.

Research the tfl.uk.gov website to be certain.

Weekends are often times when the Tube does repair work.

No idea the cost but to alleviate angst I’d arrange a car hire.

Haven’t stayed at that PI but have had the front desk arrange a cab at another PI.

They all take credit cards.

Hi Cathy!

The tube starts running at about 5:00am (Monday - Saturday) but exact time of first train varies by line. Check out the TFL website for specifics. But in short, you’ll likely need to take a cab or Uber to get somewhere by 5:00am.

Your hotel is about 2 miles from your destination, so it should cost under 20 quid. An Uber might give you more peace of mind, since you’ll see the price upfront and not have to watch the meter tick up - and up - and up - if you should happen to get stuck in traffic.

This is the taxi price chart for London- https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/taxis-and-minicabs/taxi-fares

On a Friday night/Saturday morning there is the Night Tube all night from Southwark to Victoria so the tube is an option (assuming there is no engineering work on your date) BUT you would have to switch from the Jubilee Line to Victoria Line at Green Park- which you may not wish to do so early in the morning.

Whenever I have to be somewhere that early I take a pre booked uber. The night tube is also an option but be aware the trains are less frequent than they are during the day so you would need to factor in a bit of extra time (10+ minutes apart- normally 2-3 minutes apart). Traffic is normally pretty minimal at that time.

Night tube! D’oh! Of course. :-)

OP: sorry I did not think of that. I am an OLD, so not traipsing about on the tube much past 8:00pm. :-)

One thing you might consider (if you haven't already) is to book your hotel room for the night before you arrive, so that you can check in as soon as your get there. It will be well worth the extra cost.

Just make sure to inform the hotel that you will not be arriving until early the next morning.
