Hi, we will be arriving at Heathrow on Sunday Oct 2 at 12.20pm and wondering how to get to the hotel at Residence Inn by Marriott London Bridge. There are 2 of us and we only have carry ons. Which si the fastest and most inexpensive way? Should we do Uber, Heathrow or ? Thanks!
Have you yet asked the Residence Inn ?
Take a look at Rome2Rio for transportation choices and approximate costs for your journeys. This website/app works for many cities and could be useful to your travel on this trip and future trips.

Take the Tube. Piccadilly line to Green Park. Change trains and take the Jubilee Line to London Bridge. Exit and walk 15 minutes to the hotel.
If you’ve never used the Tube or been to London scheduled a cab with JustAirports.
By using the tube it will allow you to get used to using it during your stay. Either use a debit/cc tap card OR purchase an Oyster Card from a kiosk.
Great city. Enjoy your stay.
BTW: great coffee to take away at The Watchouse and a pleasant unpretentious and traditional pub near Tower Bridge is the Anchor Tap. 15 minutes from the hotel.
This government website will plan your travels throughout your visit to London:
your own comfort level will determine the best way to get to your hotel, we don't know how you like to travel.
Isn't there a forum recommendation for Blackberry car service?
Thank you so much for your suggestions. I am going to check each one and see which one works best. And yes, this is my first time to London!
Thanks Claudia for the tips on great coffee and the pub. We are looking for traditional food in London. Can't wait! Also deciding between Maltby market and Borough Mkt. Pity that Maltby Mkt is only open on weekends!
So fastest and inexpensive don't always go hand in hand............
When I arrive after a long flight, I like to have two plans in mind. Plan 1 is public transportation if I am feeling pretty good/alert. Plan 2 is a taxi if I am not feeling alert enough to handle dealing with a new transportation system at the moment.
I find that you tube can be a great resource to become more familiar with a transportation system in advance. If you go to You Tube and search for "Riding the London Underground" you will find several videos that go over information about the "how tos" that can give you an advantage when you face using the system for the first time.
I also strongly suggest downloading the "city mapper" app to your phone. This app will give you great real time information and directions on how to use public transport to get anywhere in London.
Agree that public transportation is my first choice. Was at LHR in July, line for cab was an hour long. Took the Heathrow Express to Paddington. I think it was a 15 minute express ride, lots of room for luggage. There is an option to take the new Elizabeth ("Lizzy") Line. Get an Oyster card at LHR. You can use it to pay for either train.
Came across this post looking for same information. Will be staying at same hotel in July. 1st time to London. Did you wind up using the tube to get from heathrow to hotel… If so what lines? Also any thoughts on hotel? Thank you
Hi we bought a return ticket on the Heathrow Express to Paddington station as there was a strike on and the trains we wanted was not running. The ride on the Express took only 15 mins. The hotel was excellent, 10 mins from the station. The rooms were very clean and spacious and the breakfast was excellent. They even had laundry machines onsite. Will definitely stay there again. Hope this helps.
Paddington to London Bridge in 10 minutes. That's certainly not on foot. Did you get a taxi? Even so, was it off-hours? 10 minutes is pretty quick across town... and south of the River? Not denying, but wondering?
Nigel don’t believe OP meant 10 minutes from Paddington.
My take is answer was referencing 2 different points.
Heathrow Express and walking from London Bridge station to their London Bridge Marriott Residence Inn accommodation.
Helps to start new paragraph in posts.
Harry Potter couldn't make it from Paddington to the Residence Inn London Bridge in 10 minutes.
I believe what they are saying is the hotel (Residence Inn) was 10 minutes’ walk from London Bridge station, making it a good location for transport options. At least that is how it sounds to me.
Marklar, If you plan to use the same transport method from Heathrow into London for your July trip, namely Heathrow Express to Paddington plus taxi from there to hotel, mark your March calendar to buy the Heathrow Express tickets online sometime that month. Tickets bought 90+ days in advance are only £5.50 each way (instead of the walk-up price of £32).
I just bought ours for our March trip, paying £22 for 2 round-trip tix.

From the HEx platforms, you just walk outside to the street by the closest exit, and find the taxi rank there. Last time we took a black cab from Paddington to our hotel in that general area it was £18 in fairly bad traffic. I have no idea what it is now, but we will find out in March.
Thanks everyone for the replies…we may be switching hotels but I will defiantly take note of this information. Thanks again
