Transport around the Cotswolds

Hi All,

Wondering what the best way to do day trips from either Oxford or Bath are? We're staying in Oxford half the time, Bath half the time, but would like to do a day trip to Glastonbury/Wells - is there a train? A bus? or do we need to hire a car? We aren't interested in renting a car to drive ourselves.

In the UK to "hire a car" means to self drive (renting a car as you would say).
