I'm planning to arrive at Heathrow in the morning of May 30. What tube should I take to go to Motel One London Tower Hill. Or should I take an Uber? Thanks.
It appears the closest tube stop is Aldgate (not Aldgate east) At the airport get on the tube (Piccadilly line, dark blue). Take it to Gloucester Rd or South Kensington, then switch to the Circle Line (yellow). The ride from the airport will take about an hour. Depending on the time you take it, the tube fare will be between £3.5 and £6 (approximately). The hotel appears to be about a 2 minutes walk from the tube station, a block away.
You will be between Tower Hill (Circle and District lines) and Aldgate (Circle and Metropolitan lines), with the edge for convenience going to Aldgate. Don't confuse with Algate East - a different place (District and Hammersmith and City lines), further around than you need.
Simplest - Piccadilly Line to Earls Court or Barons Court and cross the platform for a District line train. After a couple of stations the Circle Line will join the same route, from Gloucester Road onwards all the way to Tower Hill, where they split again. At any of those stations (except Victoria because it is too crowded) get off the District line train and wait on the same platform for a following Circle line train. Ride that to Aldgate.
Go upstairs and when you come out of the station use the cross walk directly in front of the doors to cross Aldgate High Street.
(wait for the green man), then turn right (west) for a short distance on the south side of Aldgate High Street. At the first corner, opposite the church, curve around the corner to the left (south). The name of that street is Minories. Go down there a short walk. On the corner of the first real street, with a bus stop right outside on the left hand side is your hotel.
Good luck, and happy travelling.
I didn't mean to usurp jaimeelsabio's answer above - we were typing at the same time and I had dinner in the middle - so although I started my answer right away I didn't hit send until later.
The reason I suggested the route changes where I did was that although there are two changes they don't involve anything more than across the platform and standing on the same platform.
The other suggestion for only one change also works and is valid.
Emma and Nigel: How are you? I hope you remember me when I was starting on my plans to visit London. I now have almost everything ready. The only thing that held me was knowing that I had to pay more than 50 dollars for the taxi to and from our hotel. The tube is ten times cheaper and is not so difficult. Thanks so much. As usual, you two are the best guides. I decided to visit Broadstairs and the other two beaches there. From there I'll spend a night and day in Canterbury. It's just two places to see something different than the big city. There are dozens of places that I wish I could visit in England, but that would take too much time. Thanks again. By the way, I'd love to invite you to lunch or at least a beer, so let me know your phone numbers. Thanks again, Jay

Much more than that. Way more than £50! Also avoid Uber; they engage in gauge pricing as they do in the US. Get a fare quote from https://www.simplyairports.co.uk and www.justairports.com if you don't want to take the Tube.
thanks emma - typing faster than brain...
