Transpennine Express trains- storm damage

Following the two storms this week the majority of the Trans Pennine Express network has substantial delays and cancellations due to the damage caused.
This is expected to take several days to repair due to the extent of the damage.

Check locally, but there is currently a general ticket easement in place across their network. That is to say tickets are available on the services of any other relevant train company, and you can travel on any service (as close as possible to your scheduled time) for Advance Fare tickets.

I hope the Huddersfield Station had no damage. I love Felix and Bolt, the Huddersfield station cats. Darling Felix has gone over the Rainbow Bridge, but I think one of the Transpennine engines remains named after her. Bolt is officially the pest controller now. I actually took the train from York and back just to see my favorite railroad kitties. Wierd, I know, but I was thrilled to get my photo taken with them.

TransPennine are now entirely a multiple unit fleet (trains with integral engines as opposed to separate engines)- their loco hauled trains have been retired.

Locomotive 68031 Felix is now used for freight trains and has been de-named.

Bolt will be aged six on 31 August.

There is a lot of quite heavy rail news at the moment in the UK, so some light relief is to be welcomed!
