Trains, shows quiet area to stay... late September...

Hello!
Thanks in advance! Our first trip without our kids - they are off to college! Train from Edinburgh to London, would love suggestions. Looking for an AirBnB in London, quiet area, near tube, would love suggestions. Going to train to Margate, maybe Bath for a day each, any other suggestions, or train suggestions are super helpful. Finally, any great shows, restaurants or can't miss sites are all welcome. Again, thanks in advance. We have the Tower, St. Paul's, the "usual" suspects lined up. I heard walking tours are fabulous, all suggestions welcome!

Peruse the London Walks website: www.walks.com
Never taken a bad one. A great fairly inexpensive way to explore a variety of locales.

Research to see if the Postal Museum has revitalized their Murder on the Underground mystery.

Check dates for Open House London

If there on a Sunday check out the Ally Pally Market.
The views from Alexandra Palace are stellar. Bit of a jaunt from London proper but enables one to explore different neighborhoods of London.

Other places to see:

Bletchley Park
Hampton Court
Brick Lane
Sky Garden
Tour Highgate cemetary
Theatre
Walk along the Thames Path or the Regents Canal
Walk in Richmond Park

7 years ago I know friends used Vrbo to rent a studio apartment at Butlers Wharf when they visited from their home in Italy.
