train tix question london to oxford great western railway

I would like to buy train tickets for London to Oxford in advance but am not sure of the exact day we would use them. Is there a way to buy round-trip (ie return) tickets that could be used on any train over a four or five day period instead of selecting a specific time and day? I assume "day return" means you must use the return on the same day. And some of the choices say off peak but what hours are those? The options are not very well explained on their website. Thanks for your help! - Nancy

For London to Oxford it's not necessay to buy in advance, just purchase off-peak day return tickets on the day you want to travel. They'll be £37.70.

I assume "day return" means you must use the return on the same day.

It means

Day Outward:
Off-Peak Day Return tickets are valid for travel on the date shown on the ticket and until 04:29 the following morning. All travel must be completed by this time.
Day Return:
Off-Peak Day Return tickets are valid for travel on the date shown on the ticket and until 04:29 the following morning. All travel must be completed by this time.

Figure off-peak is roughly 9:30 to 3:30 and then again after evening commuter hours.
For this route off-peak starts with the 9:23 train.

You can also buy an Off Peak Return for 10p more, that is £37.80, which allows return on any Off Peak train within a month.
From Oxford the first valid train is the 0918.

The peak restrictions don't apply on Saturday and Sunday when any train is Off Peak.
