Two of us arrive Heathrow this Monday am. Should I purchase our round trip tickets for heathrow express now or would it be safe to wait and purchase at heathrow upon our arrival.

Yes, it's perfectly safe to wait... but I'd suggest taking the Tube. Cheaper and easy. :-)

Take the tube, the HEX is one of the most expensive train journeys in the world (unless you book well in advance).

Depending on where you are going in London and how many are in your party, you may do better with either the Tube, or with a prebooked car, than with the Heathrow Express. If you give more details, others here can give the best advice.
