I'll be in the Lake District in early October and then heading to Manchester on a Friday to fly to Amsterdam. The nationalrail site site doesn't have train schedules from Windermere to Manchester Airport posted this far in advance and I'm hoping to find out soon how often the trains run that route in the fall. Right now they show a train every hour with one stop in Preston. Anyone? Thanks!

Manchester to Oxenholme to Windermere sounds right. Try thetrainline.com for schedules.

For most of Europe, October schedules won't be published for a couple of months, but no, they don't change much. Look at a spring date for planning purposes.

You can assume that the schedules will be more or less the same as now. www.nationalrail.co.uk
