Train Heathrow to Cornwall

We will be traveling from Heathrow terminal two to Camborne in Cornwall mid July.
two questions......I see tickets available on "The Train Line"......is this a good site to purchase from?
Also there will be a change at Paddinton....how much time should we allow to make the change?
Thanks in advance.

Mid July ... start of the holiday season = book early.

The Trainline charges a fee - there are others that won't such as www.gwr.com, the company that runs the trains.

Look at taking the Railair bus and picking the train up at Reading rather than back tracking into London. Either may work out cheaper at this time, being a way from your journey and the time should be much the same.

Advance fares tie you to a specific train - make sure you leave plenty of time. You haven't said what time you are arriving for more specific help.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I will check into the bus to Reading. I assume that is easy to get from the terminal. Would it require an advance ticket?
We arrive at terminal two at 11:25 am.

You can buy the coach tickets on site but they are a bit cheaper in advance from Railair directly. Much cheaper if you are booking 2-3 months ahead and need a return. They run three times an hour.

The timing question was to consider the ticket prices. A walk-up ticket from Reading to Camborne comes in three tiers; Anytime (£279.00!), Off-peak (£119.60), and Super Off Peak (£95.90). These are returns. Fortunately you wouldn't need the anytime unless you are coming back early in the morning; the super off-peak is valid until 15:10. You can buy these tickets online before you arrive if you wish with seat reservations possible. Singles for the off-peaks are £71.20 and £54.50 respectively.

You may prefer advance tickets that are tied to particular trains although these have the drawback that if you miss the train through flight delays they have no value and you need to buy again. These start from £19 single. It depends on how risk averse you are, but the coach during the day is scheduled for just under an hour, stopping at terminal 5 enroute. If you arrive early there are cafes etc at the station in Reading.
