Train from York to London

We will be taking a train from York to London. Can someone please advise the best way to get to the Belgravia area - the closest train station?

Thank you!

I may be misunderstanding your question, but if not: You don't get to choose which London station you arrive at when traveling from York. All the trains go to King's Cross. If you're traveling light, you can hop on the tube there to get to your ultimate destination. Others here can probably tell you whether that will be tricky due to absence of elevators, etc.

If you'll have more than minimal luggage, let us know, and someone can make a more practical suggestion.

Victoria station is right near or in both Belgravia and Pimlico, but you will want to take the tube from where your train terminates. Victoria may or may not be the closest stop to where you want to go.

Belgravia is a bit too general. What hotel? Or at least, which tube station is closest to your final destination?

We need to know a few things

Where are you going in Belgravia? (Hotel, address or closest tube station)

What is your definition of "best?" Cheapest, fastest, easiest?

As it has been stated above, your train from York will arrive at Kings Cross rail station in London. From there you want to get to Belgravia. Once we have the above info, we'll be happy to give you an answer.

Sorry, I just discovered that I've thought of Belgravia as the wrong area all my life! Depending on where you are, you might want Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge, Victoria, or Sloane Square. Hyde Park Corner and Knightsbridge can be reached directly from Kings Cross by the Piccadilly Line, and Victoria by the Victoria Line. Sloane Square can be reached by taking the Piccadilly Line to South Kensington and changing to the Circle Line - going via Victoria may look quicker on the map but I would not recommend changing there at present due to reconstruction work on the underground station.

If you have very heavy luggage, a taxi may be better as there are unavoidable stairs, escalators and corridors on the Tube.
