Train from Manchester Airport to London St Pancras

I'll arrive Manchester Airport on Sunday in December at 9:30. I plan to purchase train ticket ahead of time. My questions are:
1. How long does it take to go through custom and to get to Manchester Piccadilly? What time train ticket should I get?
2. Let's say I purchase 11:30 ticket. If I arrive the train station early, can I talk to the train conductor to get on an earlier train? I normally did this in Frankfurt.
3. Look like the cheapest train ticket is $45 - $50 from Trainline and there are not many of them. Is this about right? Tour book lists much lower price than that so just want to check.
Thank you very much for your help

Why do you want to go to St Pancras? Trains from Manchester arrive at Euston station, which is connected to St Pancras by tube, bus, or walking.

You can buy a ticket from Manchester Airport to London Euston You will change at Manchester Piccdilly.

Look for tickets at nationalrail.co.uk Avanti West Coast is the train company that operates the train between Manchester and London

From Euston you take local transportation to St. Pancras. It's not very far.
