Hello,
We are planning the last details of our trip to England this coming September 2026.
1. Trying to buy train tickets online from London to York on our day of arrival on Monday Sept 7.
2. Arrival at Heathrow at 10am. It’s going to take a while to get out of airport.
3. Would like to take train at 2:30 pm or earlier to York
4. There are available non refundable flexible tickets available, however one restriction is if we missed the 2:30 pm train, we can only take the next train at 7pm.
5. We are seniors who don’t think or move as fast as we used to.
My questions:
1. Better to wait until we get to train station to buy (obviously more expensive) tickets?
2. Would we be able to get the credit for the cheaper advanced tickets if
we have already bought online should decide to buy new tickets?
We looked on website, but not too clear if this is the policy.
3. Any other input or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much fir your help.
