We are planning on taking a train from London to York for a one day visit. I have found tickets that meet our time criteria on both Rail Europe and Grand Central. What is the preferred company with which to make reservations?
It’s best to look at national rail.co.uk for options. You will then be directed to the correct company website too. buy.
LNER and Grand Central both run on that route but the former have more choice.
You can order train tickets from any UK train company, or the approved secondary site Train Line.
LNER seems to be the site which works best from North America. There is certainly no point to using Rail Europe.
jzeller, we purchased our tickets for a day trip in June through LNER. It went through easily and there does seem to be an advantage - cost difference and savings- doing so early. Good luck!
