Train from London , to Cambridge then Edinburgh. Rail pass or Point to point?

Greetings All !

We are Traveling in Oct and will be traveling from London , then to Cambridge, final stop in Edinburgh Scotland all on the
Train this time around.

Any thoughts, on buying a rail Pass Vs point to point over the 3 days? (Flying to London Friday, spending two nights in Cambridge,
then on to Edinburgh .

Thanks

You have to price it out but I doubt if the pass would be cost effective if you purchased early, discount train tickets.

Look up times and prices on the National Rail website: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
Except tickets for October are not yet on sale, pick a random earlier date for comparison.

That's only 2 train trips (plus getting from the airport, whichever one, into London). I bet you £1 to $1 two tickets bought in advance at discounted prices are way cheaper than a rail pass.

This is a common recommendation because the site is so thorough, including purchase strategies and the question of passes (But you still are going to have to do the math on point-to-point costs yourself.)
