Train from Gatwick to London Bridge

My husband and I are flying into London and we are staying in a hotel near London Bridge. I see that there is a train from Gatwick airport to the London Bridge station. Will it be difficult to get on the train with our luggage? We will each have one suitcase and one carry on bag.
I have a friend who is getting me worried with stories of crowded trains and doors that only open for a short time.

Well, since it is an airport train, I can pretty much guarantee that just about everyone boarding the train at Gatwick will have luggage. If you take one of the express trains that run every 30 minutes, the train terminates at London Bridge station and originates at Gatwick, and makes just one stop on the way at Croydon. So no worries about limited time to get on and off.

What hotel? London Bridge station may not be the closest station. It is on the south side of the Thames.

Yes, practically next to London Bridge station. There is a construction project going on there now, so ask direction for the best exit to the north east side of the station.

You do not want Southern railways they go to Victoria station. Thameslink is what you want.

London bridge station is under construction so confirm trains stop there.

You DO want Southern now. During reconstruction of London Bridge station cross-London Thameslink trains are not serving it. Extra trains between Gatwick and London Bridge are operated by Southern.

Thank you, We will check carefully and buy the tickets after we land at Gatwick.
