Train from Bath to Paddington Station

Hello my family and I will be taking a train from Bath to Paddington Station but wanted to stop along the route in Castle Combe. Ideally we would walk around a few hours and then get back on the train to Paddington Station. Is this possible?

No train service to Castle Combe. You would have to get off the train in Chippenham and make your way to Castle Combe from there. Hopefully someone can help you with that, but I suspect your choices are bus or taxi.

Also, be careful to buy the right ticket. If you have an Advance ticket from Bath to Paddington (that is, a specific ticket called Advance) then you won’t just be able to pop off the train and back on again.

Actually, if you have an off-peak ticket from Bath to Paddington, I don’t think it would necessarily be valid to break the journey and then get on another train, but others will advise.

You will probably need to buy separate tickets for each leg of your journey.

Neither off peak or super off peak singles restrict break of journey on this route but all parts of the travel need to be completed during the validity times of the ticket.
