We are planning to travel by train and ferry from Euston station on 1 Sep. I want to book this: London Euston [EUS] to Dublin Ferryport [DFP]
Thursday 01 September 2016 advance price of 45 BP.
and want to confirm that the ticket price also includes the ferry from Holyfield to the Dublin Ferryport.
Also, can I get the Two for One railcard to use for this ticket?
I so much appreciate all the good advice I have been reading on this site!
No Railcard discount on SailRail fares, which include the ferry crossing but no transfer from the port in Ireland. They are dirt cheap in the first place. There is also no first class option for the train.
£45 suggests you are looking at the fast ferry. Do be aware that this does not go in some weather conditions.
Compare everything with flying to Dublin from London City Airport.
Thanks! After I posted, I found more about Two Together on the 2nd page of this forum.
We are looking at the train as a way to see some of the English Countryside.
Well you won’t see much of England as you will be shooting across the Midlands at about 125 mph. Your train will call at Chester - which in itself is worth a visit /overnight. The train will then head off along the north Wales coast - which is not attractive until you reach Llandudno Junction = 1 mile east of Conwy.
Then your train will go beneath the walls of Conwy Castle - so close that you will not even realise that you are passing the castle.
I would consider travelling to north-west Wales, stopping off at Chester and then staying for maybe 3 nights in the Conwy area before continuing to Holyhead for the ferry. http://www.visitwales.com/explore/north-wales/llandudno-colwyn-bay/must-do-in-conwy

Note that you can't stopover en-route with a Sailrail ticket. You would have to buy a 'regular' ticket to your stopover point and a Sailrail from there.
Thanks folks! Appreciate yr comments. We decided to take the train/ferry trip.
