Traditional English Pub in London Suggestions Please

We will be in London with our young adult son who is working in London this summer. We are having dinner in Kings Cross which is somewhat near where he lives. We will stay in Hyde Park. We'd like him to experience a traditional pub in London as it seems he hasn't done that yet. We're willing to go where the great pub experiences are. Thank you for suggestions.

Honestly, they are on every other corner, easy to find. Look on google maps for pubs near where he lives or where you are staying and you can then look at reviews about their food offerings. Be aware that while there is usually a first come, first served allotment of tables at pubs, many recommend if not require reservations for evening meals.

Consider some of the really old ones like Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Ye Olde Mitre, Black Friars, Prospect of Whitby, The Seven Stars, etc. Traditional pubs are all over the city.

Pleasant pubs:

The Mitre Paddington
The Victoria Paddington

Near Kings Cross:
The Skinners Arms
The Queens Head

Above all traditional pubs

Hi,
Near King's Cross is Mabel's Tavern. Just in case the Skinner's Arm is too full. Don't go to the Euston Flyer. Its exterior tricks into think ing you found one. Amazingly, two blocks away is Mabel's and three of short four blocks away is the Skinner's Arm.

Don't forget to visit the British Library if you are at King's cross. It is free the documents on display are the best.
