Tower of London tours

Which is better, the audio guide or the Beefeaters tour?

Personal preference, innit. I like hearing from the Beefeaters - they live there, and have great stories to tell.

The Beefeaters, without a doubt. I really enjoyed hearing their personal experience about living in the Tower of London.

I have never used the audio guide but have been on probably 8 or 10 Beefeaters tours - I'm a member and frequent visitor to the Tower (I get to go back out at the end!)

We enjoyed the Beefeater tour a lot, but also got the audio guide. The beefeater doesn’t cover the entire place. We used the audioguide as we walked around the various buildings, and it was informative.

The Beefeaters AKA Yeoman Warders are not just tour guides. They are former military who live inside the walls. They usually share interesting personal stories along with the history of the Tower of London.

Neither is 'better' - they are completely different. If time do both!

When we went to the Tower of London there were so many people in our group on the Beefeater's tour that we couldn't hear the guide. I wish that I had known of the existence of the audio guide. I would've gotten one!

We did both! The Beefeater tour doesn’t go inside any of the buildings, so the audioguide was a helpful supplement.
