Tower of London Tour

Is it necessary to book a tour guide for easier access and professional insights, and. if so, is there one the community might recommend? Or is the Yeoman tour perfectly suitable?

The Yeoman tour is the best and comes free with entrance. Absolutely need to employ anyone else.

The Yeoman Warders of the Tower - the Beefeaters - all live at the Tower and in addition to leading tours are to be found around different areas of the Tower, including one who spends a good deal of their time with the Ravens. They are always keen to answer questions, from the banal to the interesting with equally good manner so if you see something they haven't mentioned, ask away.

They are also good with children and old people. Even visitors from the colonies.

The tour given by the Yeoman Warders is included in admission and is really fine.

London Walks also includes a Tower Tour, and they are usually fantastic (I've done many of their tours, but not this particular one). https://www.walks.com/

I've found the Yeomen tours good enough. They know the basic, are pretty good at engaging everyone and basically tells you all you need to know. I always try to get to the Tower when it opens and then immediately go to the Crown Jewels. After that I usually do the Yeoman tour.

Also recommend the Ceremony of the Keys if you want a bit more insight.
