I read in a travel blog that you can buy tickets online for Tower of London, and you can buy them up to 7 days ahead and use them (once) anytime within that 7 day period. When I go on the official site, you have to specify the date and time for the tickets. Is there a way to buy them where you don't have to specify the time? Not sure what time we will be there...

I think you do have to have an assigned time slot for entry to the Tower of London. The official website shows you do. The place gets really crowded, particularly the Crown Jewels vault, so it wouldn’t work for crowd control to allow general admission at any time.
