I went on the website for the Tower of London tickets and tried to purchase 2 tickets for Sept 8th, but it didn't give me a choice for an entry time. I noticed that I may be too far out to choose a time. If I pick tickets for Sept 3rd or earlier, it does give me a choice for a time. Should I just wait 5 more days to book the tickets so that I can choose a time? If I don't wait and purchase the tickets today for Sept 8th, I wonder what entry time they will give me. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
If you go to this page https://www.hrp.org.uk/tower-of-london/visit/faqs/
and scroll down to My ticket has no time slot - you'll see that it's because you have chosen an off-peak time and there's no time option. The English schools return week beginning 4 Sept so it will be less busy.
So does that mean that I can go anytime that entire day?
that is correct. School holidays are treated differently.
That is fantastic. Do you think I should still get there first thing when it opens, or maybe it won't be as crowded as it is in the summer?
Fyi- always go to the Crown jewels first!
your mileage may vary - I tend to get there at or close to opening time. I have a membership pass but everybody still goes through the security check. I like it quiet rather than busy.
Thank you. I will plan to go at opening time and go straight to the Crown Jewels.
