Tower of London and Palace Pass

Does having the Tower of London and Royal Palaces pass really get you through the lines faster? It says it does on the official Tower of London site.

There’s usually no line to get into the Tower of London, certainly not one of Disneyland proportions. No one gets to skip the security line, and that’s not too bad either. It’s mainly a bag inspection.

The Historic Royal Palaces membership may save you money depending on how many you visit. It’s also valid for a year so if you’re planning two trips within a year, then it can really add up.

Same things at Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace, in my experience. I'm an HRP member. Of course it means you don't need to wait to buy tickets and can walk right up to the security line, but everybody is in that, including me. Never takes long.

If you don't want to wait in line for tickets you can get them on line. If you are doing a Days Out 2 for 1 promotion then, yes, you do have to wait in the ticket line.

The palaces pass definitely saved us time at the Tower of London. There were lines (not too long) a couple of times. One day we were there, there were school groups and confusion about where lines for tickets were. We walked right up to the entrance. The pass maybe saved 10 minutes at Hampton Court Palace. It saved us money in the long run because we visited 4 locations on the pass and went to the tower 3 times (we really loved it). We also got a discount at gift shops. I wouldn’t say the pass is necessary, but it was convenient and cost-saving.
