Tours to the Cotswolds from Bath in late September

After our RS Villages of South England tour, we have 2 available days for a tour to the Cotswolds from Bath: Sat, Sept 29th or Sun, Sept 30th. Anyone have any experience with these 2 tours companies or tours from Bath:
1. Lion tours: Cotswold Explorer itinerary B (7 hour tour) http://www.liontours.co.uk/cotswold-tours
2. The Mad Max Tours: Tour #4 Cotswold villages & Avebury stone circles morning tour (8:30-1:30) https://www.madmaxtours.co.uk/tours/avebury-stone-circles-castle-combe-in-the-cotswolds-and-lacock-village-tour

Thanks for any suggestions and/or advice.

We took that Mad Max tour in June and loved it. I'm not a big fan of the Cotswolds and to me, the two villages we saw, Lacock and Castle Combe are enough.

Like Cala, I have done Mad Max tours. I did the Stonehenge/Avebury/Lacock/Castle Combe tour several years ago and this past June after the Southern England tour did the full day (Monday) tour of Cotswold Villages. I'm not a huge fan of the Cotswolds either and to me Lacock and Castle Combe would be enough. The full day tour was fine and I mostly did it because one of the folks that was traveling with me wanted to see the Cotswolds. This was the easiest and most efficient way of doing it. The company uses small 15 or so passenger vans so can get down the small lanes off the major highways which is fun. The guides are interesting and well-informed.

I've also heard good things about Lion Tours. I ~think~ the person that owns that company is the ex-husband of Maddie who owns MadMax tours, so both with a long background of local touring.

I'd go with whichever itinerary appeals to you the most. I don't think you can go wrong.

I really enjoyed the Southern England tour. I hope you have a wonderful time! Take a waterproof rain jacket - we had rain in May and I've been to Bath in September with several rainy days as well.

I've done two tours with Mad Max including the one you mentioned. It is not really a Cotswolds tour as it only goes to Castle Combe which is in the southern end of the area. Neither Avebury nor Lacock is in the Cotswolds. Tour 2 is their Cotswolds tour but isn't given the days you have available.
