Sigh, I don't suppose they'll be offering that again in March of next year. Oh well, maybe I can ring up Hugh Grant and see if he'll get me a tour. 🤣

By the way, if anyone hasn't seen "The Diplomat" on Netflix, Rory Kinnear (who plays the British PM) pretty much disparages 10 Downing Street as antiquated and drafty when he compares his character's residence to the posh home of the Foreign Secretary. :)

Not sure if it matters, but a good friend who is from London tells me it should always be called "Number 10," not just "10 Downing Street" as American news announcers typically say.

Number 10 is a widespread colloquiallism, but only if said in context.

As a fellow brit to be prescriptive like "should only" seems a step way too far.

But in an event listing it would make little sense to just say Number 10.

I am old enough to remember Downing Street before the gates, when anyone could wander down the street.

There is a pocket park off Horse Guards Parade which is an interesting place to see the back of the street from, when you can find it open.
